A few of my favourite memories so far: Western Australia

I thought it would be pretty cool to document a few of my favourite memories and pictures on here to share with you and to also have it here to look back on. I’ve now officially been here for two weeks and I’ve never felt more relaxed and present - ever. So without further ado (adieu?) - here they are:

Yallingup Beach

Yallingup Beach

This is a picture I got on Yallingup beach which has to be my favourite beach here. I really want to watch the sunset here one day. This is the brutal ocean (that’s pretending to be as flat as a pancake for the shot) that almost snapped my arm and stole my GoPro. Thank god I didn’t have too much footage on there else I’d have been devastated. I just let it go over my head because what’s the point in stressing over something that you can't control. So goodbye GoPro… Thank god I have travel insurance. I was also chased by a weird wasp thing - I was literally sprinting down the beach and it was trying to attack me. This day consisted of visiting a natural spa and having sea foam roll over us and full up a huge rock pool full of people, followed by hours of wave jumping and then a million calories worth of food because I was starving all night. This has to be my favourite day thus far.

This is a cute sign up at a little food/coffee place at the top of the beach in Yallingup. They did the best iced coffee I have ever had. They also do incredible juices and smoothies - I had a banana, date and cocoa one the other day and it was insane. I just thought this sign was so lovely and relevant and such a great reminder of all the great things in life in the present and things to come.

Foreshore - Busselton

Foreshore - Busselton

This was the first sunset I watched while being here and holy guac it was breathtaking. I set up my camera to film a time lapse and then caught a few shots with the orange and pink residual light. I was told something this day about someone in my past and if I were home, I know how much it would have stuck with me. But here, I just took myself along to the beach, watched the sunset and that was that. It jus reminded me that nothing matter unless it’s what makes you happy. I felt so full after this and just completely content and grateful. I just flipping love the ocean. LOOK AT IT!

Ring - Hobo and Hatch

Ring - Hobo and Hatch

I took myself on a little walk around Busselton today. Not for any reason in particular but I just fancied a stroll and came across some of the cutest little shops. One of them being Hobo and Hatch which was so boho and was full of warm colours and everything from candles to clothes; including incredible handmade jewellery. I was looking at the rings when this one caught my eye and it was literally love at first sight haha. The lady in the shop said ‘don’t you feel like rings choose you’ and that’s exactly how it felt. It’s a chunky silver number with the words ‘love by the moon’ engraved into it. I just love it and it’s going to remind me of the time I was 23 and hopped on a one way flight to Australia by myself… You know?

Busselton Jetty

Busselton Jetty

This picture makes me happy because it was the day I walked down the 1.8km long jetty I’d been staring at pictures of on Google for months before arriving. I got rather burnt as I forgot my SPF but I did get to watch all the little fish from under water look out points which was pretty cool.

So those are my favourite moments, memories and places in Western Australia.

I still have a few weeks here so I’m going to carry on exploring and relaxing before flying across to the East of Australia and setting myself some roots for the rest of the year!

See you soon,

Meg xx
