Ten minute make-up routine

Since the mornings have been getting darker, I’ve been snoozing my alarm more and more. Which basically then leaves me in a mad rush resulting in me telling myself I’ll get up earlier tomorrow. We all know how that goes…

So, I decided to just accept that bright, early mornings are now a mere memory and they have been replaced with dark, cold ones instead (which I do actually love). Because of this, I’ve managed to get my make-up time down to under 10 minutes… Here’s how:

I start with cleansing, toning and moisturising my face (I’ll be doing another post on this soon) to ensure I’ve got a clean base to start with. I can’t say I’m always the best at taking my make-up off of an evening so I guiltily make sure it’s thorough the next morning. For my base, I use L’oreal True Match foundation as it blends so well and has such great coverage. I then use the NYX HD Studio Photogenic concealer on any blemishes (i.e. spots) and then the Revlon Colorstay Concealer under my eyes. This is one of the only concealers that doesn’t crease under my eyes throughout the day! I then go in with a little bit of the bareMinerals loose powder to set anywhere that’s prone to a bit of oil (basically my entire face). I then add a bit of dimension back by using Benefit Hoola bronzer (my all time favourite bronzer in the world, ever) and also slightly contour under my cheekbones with a little bit of the Collection Contour Kit. Lastly, I sweep some of the Soap and Glory Wonderbronze over the tops of my cheek bones to add a bit of a glow.

I like to constantly swap and try different brow products but I’ve recently been trying a drugstore brow pencil from Maybelline and I’m really loving it! It’s the Browsatin pencil in Brunette. It’s easy to create litte hair strokes - keeping your brows full but natural. I then brush my bruws upwards with the Rimmel London Brow This Way gel. In my honest opinion, I’m not loving this as the brush is far too big which is a bit tricky - especially when you have limited time. I’ll let you know what one Ii go for next…

I absolutely love eye shadow and liners and glitters etc. However we only have ten minutes - so I just sweep a layer or two of mascara onto my lashes and I’m good to go in this department. I love the Falsies mascara by Maybelline. I have tried many mascaras, high end and drugstore, and let me tell you - this mascara is incredible.

As you may have seen in another blog post, I’ve been loving glossy lips at the moment. It’s so pretty and makes your lips look hydrated and full. I’m really enjoying the Hawaiian Tropic lip gloss in Island Berry - especially layered over a little bit MAC Whirl. It’s a great combo and is very seasonal.

That’s all for my 10 minute make-up routine. I do this every day - mostly sat on the train into Bristol (I will never be a morning person… *sigh*).

Let me know your favourite products at the moment!

See you soon,

Meg xx
